Under Siege
Earlier today, w1n forces with Redelite flying a dread attacked a Corvid POS in B-WPLZ. Around 10-15 w1n battleships camped the gate from KBP-7G, the only way into the system. They deployed bubbles and camped the gate.
By a stroke of good luck, Providence if you will, a massive amount of Maelstrom Alliance cruisers had planned a cruiser op that day. Maelstrom commanders linked up with Corvid forces and assembled a force of around 30-35 cruisers. We proceeded into KBP-7G and camped the gate into B-WPLZ, waiting for an enroute fleet of Ushra'khan battleships, and another friendly party whose name escapes me. Myself, I was flying a Claw set up for tackle. As far as I could tell, only myself and the fleet commander were flying inties, which made us pretty important figures, eh? Anyway, we jumped in, attacked all nearby battleships, destroyed the bubbles, and started to engage the rest of the w1n fleet. I tackled about 3 or 4 battleships as they fell to concentrated cruiser fire. As the FC and I apporached a group of 3 BS piloted by w1n members, a sniper managed to pop my Claw before it could warp out. I headed back to IWZ to grab a Stiletto and rejoin the fight, but by the time i had gotten back, the battle was over, w1n forces retreated from the system, and Redelite and his dread were gone. We killed nearly every battleship that w1n had deployed in the area, including a Navy Issue Raven, worth about 1 to 1.5 billion ISK. We took 1 battleship loss, a few cruisers, and a few succumbed to friendly fire, an unfortunate consequence of a rag-tag group with myriad standings. The whole fleet aligned for warp before gang warping, resulting in 30 ships in the same bubble. Very cool. This has been the largest fleet battle i have been involved in, 90 in local at peak times, and the only lag I got was a bit of warp-in lag. Overall, it was a great experience to be able to help out in such a cool endeavor, keeping Providence safe for the good guys.
Screenies I managed to grab:
